It happened almost a month ago now, but I turned 29 and had a wonderful birthday. We went to a neat place called Hillbilly Tea. It's down in the Whiskey Row section of Louisville and has been open for about 2 years. If you like organic, hand-crafted food served to you by hipsters then this is the place for you. It's only got a handful of tables so it makes for a nice quiet place to eat.
The menu is small but the things we had were great. One of the guys who owns/works/not sure what makes his own moonshine, if you're into that.
I really like restaurants that accomodate families but aren't liken to a Mr. Gatti's pizza joint. They had a party upstairs that night and since Kathryn is so cute, they gave us some of the cookies they were serving them. And because it was my birthday, we got free bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce. We were definitely stuffed! As you scroll through the photos you can see the neat way they serve tea. We went for dinner but I definitely want to go back for brunch some time soon!
